The day we broke the production record

I started this chapter of my life here in Brunei on October 1st 1998. At that time, the company was still Elf. I began as a Field Operator at OPP, Lumut. Today, I'm the Production Supervisor. Some of my proudest achievements are my production records that I have pasted on the wall of my office.

For example, on the July 24th 2004, we managed to produce 1,529 Sm3/day of condensate. A record that nobody has managed to break so far! It was very special for us. Of course, I couldn't have done it without the support of my team. Our target was to reach the highest level of production. There has since been a change in the company ownership. Change also in the management and even in the way that we do things.

One thing I have learnt is that, we will need to adapt to all those changes if we really want to see improvements. Today, I would really like to see these facilities at OPP operated properly and maintained safely. As part of my personal target, at this stage, I believe that in the future it would also be wise to have it operated and maintained by local people.

After so long, I really feel that I have to share my knowledge. So far, we have trained twenty local personnel and they have stayed with us for two years before going to other companies. I'm very proud to be part of this process. Indirectly, we are contributing to the growth of Brunei.
